Sylvia B. Larson April 20, 1914 - June 13, 2009
GLENWOOD --Sylvia B. Larson, 95, of Glenwood, died Saturday at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chippewa Falls Lutheran Church in Terrace. Burial will be in the Chippewa Falls Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at All Saint's Chapel in Glenwood Retirement Village with a prayer service at 9 a.m. Visitation will resume at 10 a.m. at the church until the time of service. Arrangements are by Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
She was born on April 20, 1914, to Christopher and Alma (Pederson) Nyhammer of rural Sedan. She lived all of her life in Pope County. She graduated from Glenwood High School in 1933 and went to business school in Minneapolis. She worked at the court house in Glenwood.
She married David Larson on Dec. 16, 1935. They lived on the Larson homestead in rural Terrace. She worked at various places along with helping farm. David died in 1998 and she eventually moved into an apartment in Glenwood until entering the Glenwood Village Care Center.
She was a member of the Chippewa Falls Lutheran Church in Terrace and its ladies aid.
She is survived by two children: Donald (and Sharon) Larson of Glenwood and Carol (and Odell) Anderson of Onalaska, Wis.; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Alden (and Barbara) Nyhammer of Anoka.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a granddaughter; two brothers; and a sister.
