CLARA CITY - Tanya R. Hoekstra, age 44, of Clara City died on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Funeral service will be 1:30pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Tuesday at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Tanya Rennaee Hoekstra was born on February 18, 1969 in Beach, North Dakota, the daughter of Donald and Judy (Odenbaugh) Lardy. She grew up in Farwell, Minnesota. She graduated from Glenwood High School in the class of 1987. She attended Alexandria VoTech and Ridgewater College where she received a degree in Finance and Credit and a degree as a Legal Secretary. She then started her employment at Douglas County Hospital.
Tanya was united in marriage to Wade Hoekstra on March 4, 1995 at the Catholic Church in Kensington, Minnesota. The couple lived in the Clara City area where Tanya worked various jobs including: Hulstrand, Anderson and Saunders Attorneys in Willmar, Forstrom Bancorp and was currently employed at Farmers Coop Oil in Clara City.
Tanya was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith. She was a member of Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City and was active in the youth music program, was a Sunday School and Bible School Teacher, and worked with the Christmas program and played piano.
Tanya also kept active as a Pampered Chef Consultant and was a devoted participant and supporter of the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for a Cure.
She enjoyed taking pictures and scrapbooking, and creating personalized "Tanyas Cards from the Heart" that she would give to her family and friends. Tanya was very organized with everything she did. Her family remembers their vacations to Florida and California and spending time together at the lake. They cherished the time they could spend at their cabin this past summer. They will miss the great times at the lake with her.
Tanya is survived by her husband Wade Hoekstra; three sons: Zachary, Braden and Tommy all of Clara City; parents Donald and Judy Lardy of Farwell; brothers: James Lardy of MT, Kurt (Darla) Lardy of Farwell, Clint (Christy) Lardy of Tea, SD; mother and father-in-law, Lois and Virgil Hoekstra of Clara City; sister-in-law Beth (Shawn) Reed of Maple Grove. Tanya is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
