Ted Van Hove Jan. 22, 1932 - Nov. 12, 2008
RAYMOND -- Ted Van Hove, 76, of Raymond died Wednesday at his home of kidney failure.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bunde Christian Reformed Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Le-gion Post 167 of Willmar.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church and one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with the Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg.
He was born Jan. 22, 1932, on the family farm near Clara City to Jans and Tina (Groen) Van Hove. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Clara City High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1957 to 1959.
On April 9, 1959, he married Ruth Visser in Raymond. They made their home on the family homestead where he farmed until his retirement in 1984. They moved to Raymond in 1996. He received a heart transplant in 1999. He was a member of Bunde Christian Reformed Church, serving as elder and deacon.
He is survived by his wife; five children: Pamela (and Robert Hamilton) Van Hove of Minneapolis, Susan (and Steve) Blacker of Massachusetts, Julie (and Terry) Kooi of Iowa, Scott (and Jackie) Van Hove of Clara City and Sharlene (and Mark) Beck of Olivia; a daughter-in-law: Mary (and John) Wiest of South Dakota; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings: Katie (and Clarence) Swart of Prinsburg and Donald (and Reva) Van Hove of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by a brother; and a son: Douglas Van Hove in 1990.
