Teenager stabbed, another person assaulted in Laporte
The Hubbard County (Minn.) Sheriff's Office received a report at about 11:40 p.m. Sunday that a 17-year-old boy had been stabbed and another individual had been assaulted in Laporte, Minn., according to a press release from the Sheriff's Office.
Personnel from the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office, Lakeport First Responders and North Memorial Ambulance responded to the scene.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers learned that the suspects had fled the scene in a vehicle. A Hubbard County deputy, with the assistance of the Walker Police Department and Cass County Sheriff's Office, located the suspects traveling eastbound on Hubbard County Road 38.
Two suspects, an 18-year-old Duluth man and an 18-year-old Bemidji man, are currently being held in Hubbard County Jail pending formal charges of assault.
Both victims were transported to North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji for treatment of their injuries.
The case remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
