Teens airlifted after crash west of Cokato, Litchfield man not hurt
COKATO -- Two 17-year-old Cokato residents were airlifted from the scene of a head-on two-vehicle crash west of Cokato this morning to Hennepin County Medical Center.
According to the State Patrol, Kristina M. Pfannenstein was driving a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire westbound on U.S. Highway 12, lost control and crossed the center line, where the vehicle collided with a 2000 Ford Ranger driven by Daniel Kotila, 29, of Litchfield.
The crash was reported around 8:05 a.m. at the intersection with Pittman Avenue Southwest, just west of the city of Cokato.
Pfannenstein and her passenger, Sade C. Clay, also 17, were both in critical condition. Kotila sustained a minor injury, but was not taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.
The Wright County Sheriff's office also responded to the crash.
