Teeuwen bowls 300 at Kandi Bowl
WILLMAR -- Jeremy Teeuwen of Willmar rolled a perfect 300 game on Thursday evening at the Kandi Bowl/KEC during United City Men's League.
It was the 23-year-old right-hander's first 300 and the fifth ever on the KEC lanes.
According to a release from the Kandi Bowl, Teeuwen holds a 201 average. Throwing a Track 300C bowling ball, he led off with a hot 255 followed by a sub-average 184.
But he followed that with 12 strikes for his first perfecto in 11 years of competitive bowling at the KEC. The 300 added up to a 739 scratch series.
"I can honestly say I never thought I'd get my first 300 here," he commented, "because a lot of people expect to come out here and shoot really big scores" and it just doesn't happen.
His name will be added to the KEC 300 honor roll joining Jordan Olson, Jarrett Kopacek, Don Lingl and Mike Pillatzki.
Teeuwen has had three 700 series in just the past year.
"I'm extremely proud of this 300 game, but now I look forward to reaching my first 800 series," he said.
