Temporary access closures on Highway 23 south of Marshall begin this week
WILLMAR -- Motorists will encounter temporary access closures along Highway 23 south of Marshall from the junction of Lyon County Road 5 to ¾ miles east of Russell.
The temporary closures were scheduled to begin Tuesday and continue through Oct. 15 because of paving operations on the two-lane segment.
The temporary access closures are intermittent, and will remain in effect until Sept. 10. The accesses will open and close frequently.
The 12-mile resurfacing project from Russell to one-half mile north of Highway 19 in Marshall began May 3. The project is planned to reduce maintenance costs, improve pavement strength and provide a safer, smoother ride for motorists.
