PRINSBURG - Tena Dorothy Waterman, age 92, of Prinsburg, died Saturday afternoon, April 20, at the Bethesda Heritage Center Nursing Home in Willmar.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg. Interment will be at Holland Township Cemetery in Prinsburg. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at the church and one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg.

Tena was born April 3, 1921, in rural Prinsburg, the daughter of Heine and Trientje (Marcus) Medema. She grew up and attended country school in the rural Prinsburg Community and attended high school in Minneapolis. On Dec. 31, 1949, she married Charles Waterman at First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg and they made their home in Prinsburg. Tena worked doing housework for several families in the area and later served as custodian at Central Minnesota Christian School in Prinsburg from 1973 to 1989. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Reformed Church where she was active with Mission Club and the quilting group and made many baby blankets for missions. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, embroidery, gardening and cooking.

She is survived by her children, Harlan (and Betty) Waterman of Watertown, SD, Odell Waterman of Bakersfield, CA, Twyla (and Chuck) Sietsema of Danube, Charlyn (and Merle) Sietsema of Raymond and Craig Waterman of Raymond; eight grandchildren, Cassie (and Travis) Fischer of Watertown, SD, Ryan Sietsema of Loretto, Eric (and Gretchen) Sietsema of Lake Lillian, Troy Sietsema of Willmar, Justin (and Lacey) Sietsema of Willmar, David (and Sera) Sietsema of Raymond and Stephanie (and Adam) Vogel of Harrisburg, SD; eight great-grandchildren, Allie & Caleb Fischer, Jacob & Carter Sietsema, Brian Larson Sietsema, and Elizabeth, Annika & Bridgette Sietsema; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Waterman; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
