Tengwall, Tommies ranked No. 2 in Division III hoops

The St. Thomas men’s basketball team, featuring 2010 New London-Spicer graduate Erik Tengwall as the starting point guard, is ranked No. 2 in the nation by D3hoops.com. The Tommies are 13-0 after beating Gustavus 81-60 on Wednesday, and are well-positioned to take the top spot after current No. 1 North Central (Ill.) lost its first game of the season.
Tengwall is averaging 23.1 minutes a game for the Tommies with 7.3 ppg.
The Tommies play St. John’s 3 p.m. Saturday and the game will be televised on Channel 45.
