PRINSBURG - Theresa M. Frikke, age 88, of Prinsburg, died unexpectedly, Thursday morning, December 27, at her home.

Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 31, at Bunde Christian Reformed Church. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 P.M. Sunday at the Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Theresa Mary (Breems) Frikke, daughter of Annie (Ledeboer) and Garret Breems, was born on June 19, 1924, on the family farm in Rheiderland Township, Chippewa County, Minnesota (near Bunde). She grew up in the Prinsburg area, attended rural school and continued her education in Clara City High School. She worked for several new mothers in the area, helping with child care and housekeeping. On October 28, 1948, she was married to Elmer Frikke and they made their home on a farm near Prinsburg until they moved into town in 1979. After moving into Prinsburg, she had various jobs as a care giver for several people in town. Theresa was baptized at the First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg and has been an active member at Bunde since 1948. She was active in the church ladies aid, a volunteer at the thrift store in Willmar, a member of Monday morning coffee group and the quilting group. Theresa loved being with her children and grandchildren, spending time with them was always a cherished thing. She also enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, reading, sewing, cooking, baking and was a real Twins fan.

She is survived by her 6 children; Glenda (and Dennis) Grussing of Raymond, Marlys (and Dan) Negen of Prinsburg, Darrel (and Carol) Frikke of Willmar, Jeff (and Judy) Frikke of Prinsburg, Julie (and Jeff) Dockman of Prinsburg and Dawn (and Todd) Folkerts of Inwood, Iowa. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 brothers; Martin Breems of Sheldon, Iowa and Henry (and Donna) Breems of New Brighton, 1 sister; Helena Swierenga of Prinsburg and 3 sisters-in-law; Dorothy Frikke of Clara City, Lorraine Breems of Willmar and Dorothy Breems of Prinsburg, besides other relatives and friends.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Elmer in 2003) and 2 brothers; Gordon Breems and Harvey Breems.
