Thieves clean out cars in Darwin, Dassel, Minn.; sheriff reminds citizens to lock vehicles

LITCHFIELD -- Meeker County Sheriff Jeff Norlin reminds citizens to lock their vehicles and homes at night and when not in use after his department took multiple theft reports Saturday morning in Dassel and Darwin.

According to Norlin's news release, the thefts likely happened early Saturday morning, between 1 and 6 a.m. and all of the vehicles involved were unlocked. The missing items included CDs and CD players, fishing equipment, loose change, tools and keys.

Citizens made more than a dozen theft reports to the sheriff's office.
