Thomas R. Sandeen
June 27, 1929 - May 9, 2006
HECTOR -- Thomas Richard Sandeen, 76, of Hector died Tuesday at the Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church in Hector. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
He was born June 27, 1929, in New Ulm to Elmer and Vira (Tompkins) Sandeen. He grew up in Hector and graduated from Hector High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He married Harriette Heymann on June 19, 1951, in St. Michael. They lived in Hector. He was a carpenter and worked as a construction supervisor for Rauenhorst Construction.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Carl O. Potter American Legion Post 135.
He is survived by his wife; children: Timothy (and Michelle) Sandeen of Waconia, Teresa (and Kevin) Kolander of North Mankato, Emily (and James) Tate of Deer Park, Wash., Margaret (and Tom) Franzeen of Ogden, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and three sisters: Mary Fernkes of Bird Island, Delilah Butler of Lakeville, and Phyllis (and Gerry) Grimm of Lakeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
