DAWSON -- Thornie Julian Lee, 86, of Dawson, died Tuesday at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson.

The service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.

He was born Feb. 16, 1923, in Riverside Township, rural Dawson, to Alfred and Hilda (Haakenson) Lee. He attended District 26 country school in rural Dawson.

He married Sylvia Jane Ostlie on Nov. 6, 1949, in rural Watson. They farmed in the rural Dawson area. He entered the Johnson Memorial Home on Nov. 17, 2008.

He served on the School Board of District 4 and for many years served on the Tri-County Soybean Association Board.

He is survived by his wife; children: Diane (and Cort) Holten of Minneapolis, David (and Janice) Lee of Dawson, Gary (and Debra) Lee of Dawson and Carol (and Michael) Nault of Apple Valley; eight grandchildren; brothers: Arbie (and Bonnie) Lee of Madison and Floyd (and Dora) Lee of Montevideo; and sisters: Heloise Ronning of Farmington and Alice Lanoue of Lakeville.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
