Three area players named to Vikings' All-State team

Three Central Minnesota players were selected to the Minnesota Vikings' 9th annual All-State High School Football Team.

Quarterback Brett Bergeson, of Montevideo, quarterback and free safety Kyle Athmann, of BOLD, and running back and linebacker Esten Weber, of Dawson-Boyd, were among the 30 prep players from throughout the state honored by the Vikings. The honors were presented by the Minnesota Army National Guard.

The players were selected by a committee of high school coaches, Vikings staff, sports writers and broadcasters.

Totino-Grace head coach Jeff Ferguson was named the 2011 Coach of the Year.
