Thunderstorms are moving across west central Minnesota
A wide area of steady rain with numerous heavy showers and thunderstorms has spread across the western half of Minnesota. The thunderstorms are moving across southwestern and west central Minnesota into the east half of Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
There are multiple waves of thunderstorms forms and reforming over the southwest corner of Minnesota, according to the National Weather Service. The system is moving northeast at 40 mph.
Rain is expected to continue all day in west central Minnesota. The heaviest estimated rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches an hour has fallen along the Minnesota River Valley -- from Mankato west to the South Dakota border.
Blustery east winds are expected to persist throughout the day.
