Tinklenberg MIAC’s top women’s swimmer

Alissa Tinklenberg, a Gustavus Adolphus junior from Willmar, was named MIAC Women’s Swimmer of the Year after helping lead the Gusties to the school’s fourth straight title Saturday at the University of Minnesota.

She broke her own MIAC meet and league record in the 200 yard backstroke  with the loop’s first-ever sub-two minute time of 1:59.92.

She also anchored the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:29.72) which included senior Sarah Hund, also of Willmar.
