Tracy-Milroy principal to be new Barnesville school superintendent
BARNESVILLE, Minn. - An elementary school principal in Tracy, Minn., will soon be the new school superintendent in Barnesville.
Barnesville School Board Chairman Chad Holland said the district has a verbal agreement with Scott Loeslie that will be formalized Monday at the board's next meeting.
Loeslie's salary will be $95,000, according to Holland.
Holland said Loeslie impressed school board members for several reasons.
"He was very organized and very enthusiastic about the whole educational process," said Holland.
Loeslie will step into his new job July 1, when the current superintendent, Steve Jordahl, becomes superintendent of schools in St. Cloud, Minn.
A message left for Loeslie was not returned Friday.
Loeslie said Thursday he was in unofficial talks with Barnesville regarding the superintendent position but stated any announcements would come from the school board.
Loeslie was one of two finalists for the job.
The other, Terry Karger, the K-12 principal in Frazee-Vergas, Minn., had turned down a job offer from the Barnesville district in 2005, citing family reasons.
