Training sessions for 4-H dog show this weekend

WILLMAR -- The 4-H Dog Project Supersession will be held again this year at the Kandiyohi County Fairgrounds.

4-H members looking to show their dogs at the Minnesota State 4-H Dog Show at this year's Minnesota State Fair can take part in a selection of 26 sessions on Saturday and Sunday.

Trainers including professional dog handler Darrel Cooper of Westminster Dog Show renown will be covering topics ranging from obedience and showmanship to dog CPR.

So far, 60 4-H members from throughout the region are signed up for the event. Last year, members came from as far away as South Dakota, said Debra Carlson, secretary of the Kandiyohi County 4-H Dog Project.

Sessions will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. Saturday and from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
