Transportation forum today with officials, lawmakers in Willmar, Minn.

WILLMAR -- The Minnesota Transportation Alliance is hosting a transportation forum today in Willmar to provide information on local transportation issues and allow the public to discuss issues of concern with local legislators and community leaders.

From 10 a.m. until noon today at the Willmar Public Library, the public is invited to hear from transportation officials and political candidates, the Transportation Alliance said in a news release.

Margaret Donahoe, executive director of the Minnesota Transportation Alliance, will open the forum and speak about transportation needs and funding.

Jon Huseby, Minnesota Department of Transportation district engineer, will speak about state projects and regional issues. Tiffany Collins, Kandiyohi Area Transit, and Rachel Schneiderman, Renville County Transit, will speak about local transit issues.

Several candidates have been invited and are expected to attend, and will have an opportunity to speak. There also will be a short question-and-answer period at the end.
