WILLMAR -- The West Central Tribune is expecting 1,000 attendees at the 13th annual Life Connections event Friday. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; exhibitors will be available from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Willmar Civic Center.
Life Connections has become a tradition for mature adults of Willmar and southwest Minnesota providing exhibits, seminars, entertainment and probably most important --interaction -- for those who attend.
This year's entertainment includes an entertaining show by the musical Kingery Family of Grove City and polka music by the Bruce Bradley Band of Brownton.
Seminar topics range from fitness to entrepreneurship opportunities. Other highlights of the day include Dad's Belgian waffles, bingo, the ever-popular Cub pie fest, and prizes.
Grand prize will be a lift chair from Slumberland Furniture of Willmar. Transportation in the parking lot of the Civic Center will be provided.
The 2012 Outstanding Senior Award will be presented.
Advance tickets are $4 and are available at Cub Foods, Willmar Senior Center, West Central Tribune and Cornerstone Coffee. Tickets at the door are $5. Dad's Belgian waffle breakfast is available for an additional $1 and there will be pie and coffee in the afternoon for only $1; proceeds from the pie fest go to hospice.
