Chaske (CHAS'-Kay) Spencer will give a motivational speech Thursday and speak at a banquet that evening. Spencer played the role of werewolf leader Sam Uley in the "Twilight" films.

Spencer was born into the Lakota Sioux tribe and was raised on reservations in Montana and Idaho.

This is the sixth year of the youth leadership conference. It's designed to motivate youth and promote native traditions. The conference is on the Red Lake Indian Reservation on Wednesday and Thursday, and includes workshops on suicide prevention, drug abuse and teen pregnancy.

The conference's theme is "Warriors Don't Quit."
