Twins say Mauer won't come off disabled list right away
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota Twins All-Star Joe Mauer will be eligible to come off the disabled list on Thursday.
But Twins general manager Bill Smith doesn't think Mauer will be healthy enough for that to happen.
The Twins placed Mauer on the disabled list on April 14 with bilateral leg weakness. Smith said on Tuesday that Mauer lost about a week of rehab time because of a nasty bout of the flu that circulated through the clubhouse.
