Two boys airlifted after ATV crash near Hanley Falls

HANLEY FALLS -- Two 16-year-old boys were airlifted to separate hospitals after they were injured in a four-wheeler accident around 9:45 p.m. Monday evening west of Hanley Falls.

According to the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's office, Tyler Joseph Boklep, 16, of Cottonwood, and Joseph Skyler Cantu, 16, of Hanley Falls, were involved in the accident, on County Road 18 about one mile west of Hanley Falls.

Boklep was transported to Granite Falls Hospital and later airlifted to a metro-area hospital. Cantu was airlifted from the scene to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The accident is under investigation by the sheriff's office. Assisting were the Hanley Falls fire and first responders, Cottonwood ambulance and fire, Granite Falls ambulance and police, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Upper Sioux Community Police Department.
