Two die following I-35 motorcycle accident


Two people from Ramsey, Minn., have died after the motorcycle they were riding crashed Thursday on Interstate 35 in Pine County.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the crash happened about noon a few miles south of the Willow River exit. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling north lost control and crashed; both people on the motorcycle were airlifted to hospitals in Duluth.


The 57-year-old man operating the motorcycle died from his injuries at St. Luke's hospital. A 47-year-old woman who was a passenger on the motorcycle died from her injuries at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center. Their names will be released later Friday.

Neither individual was wearing a helmet, the State Patrol reported.
