David D. Thoele, 45, of Cologne lost control of the 1993 Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was driving on a curve at the intersection of River Street and Franklin Avenue. The State Patrol said Thoele was unable to make the curve and laid the motorcycle on its side and then slid under the pickup truck.

Thoele and his passenger, Mary K. Lofquist, 50, of Watertown, died.

The 21-year old driver of the 1999 Chevy Silverado pickup was not identified, but the State Patrol said the driver was from Willmar. Two passengers in the pickup, a 26-year old from Willmar and a 21-year old from Pennock, also were not named in the report issued Sunday. No one in the pickup was injured.

The accident was reported at 5:18 p.m. Saturday. The Wright County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
