Two face drug charges after brick of marijuana, cocaine found in Willmar, Minn., house

WILLMAR — Ricardo Navarro, 41, and Loraine Michelle Romero, 30, of Willmar, each made their first court appearances Friday on third- and fifth-degree drug possession charges for allegedly possessing 3.8 pounds of marijuana and 3 grams of cocaine found Thursday in their trailer home during the execution of a search warrant.
Unconditional bail was set at $75,000 for both of the defendants, who both make their next appearance on Jan. 28 in Kandiyohi County District Court.
According to the complaint, CEE-VI Drug Task Force agents and other law enforcement officers served the warrant around 10 a.m. Thursday along the 400 block of 30th Street Northwest. The officers found Romero and Navarro in the home and, after also finding cocaine and 99 grams of marijuana in the room, arrested both of them.
The search also revealed drug paraphernalia, scales and a 3.5-pound brick of marijuana in the freezer and refrigerator.
Romero gave a statement to officers including that she knew there were drugs in the house, that Navarro uses and sells marijuana, that she sees large quantities of drugs coming through the trailer with five people coming to the house to buy weekly and that she is tired of the drug sales.
Navarro has four prior convictions for drug sale and possession, in January 2008, May 2007, September 2002 and December 1998.
