Two injured in Clarkfield crash

CLARKFIELD -- Two people sustained major injuries in a crash around 12:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of 10th Street and Prairie View Avenue.

According to a news release from the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's office, a vehicle driven by Jason Lee, 36, of Milan, was traveling southbound on 10th Street and failed to negotiate a curve in the road, sending the vehicle airborne into a cornfield.

A passenger, Melinda Hedman, 33, of Clarkfield, was also injured.

Speed and alcohol are being investigated as the cause of the accident. Charges are pending further investigation. Also responding to the scene were the Clarkfield/Boyd Police Department and the Clarkfield Ambulance.
