Two injured in Highway 212 head-on crash

RENVILLE COUNTY -- Two men were injured in a Tuesday semitrailer/car accident on U.S. Highway 212 in Renville County.

Mario G. Lombrana, 45, of Olivia and John A. Manderfeld, 55, of New Ulm suffered minor injuries from their involvement in a head-on collision Tuesday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Lombrano was driving a 1998 Chrysler Cirrus eastbound on Highway 212 around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when his vehicle crossed over the centerline of the highway and collided with a 2003 International Conventional semitrailer driven by Manderfeld.

Lombrana suffered a broken pelvis, cuts and bruises, and Manderfeld suffered a minor injury to his shoulder. Both were transported to Granite Falls Municipal Hospital.

According to the State Patrol report, alcohol was detected on Lombrana.

The Renville County Sheriff's Office assisted the State Patrol at the scene of the accident.
