Two men in custody for string of burglaries
MONTEVIDEO -- Two men are in custody and face charges as suspects in a string of garage burglaries in the region.
Frank Sik, 29, and David Picard, 30, both of Montevideo, were arrested following a search executed by law officers Saturday.
Officers with the Montevideo, Dawson, Clarkfield/Boyd, and Upper Sioux Tribal police departments executed the search warrants in Montevideo, reported Police Chief Adam Christopher of Montevideo.
The warrants were based on information the Montevideo and Dawson police departments had obtained regarding recent garage burglaries.
Many tools that have been confirmed stolen have been recovered from burglaries in Montevideo, Boyd, Dawson, Madison, Chippewa County and Watertown, S.D.
Picard was arraigned Monday on charges of burglary, second-degree building with possession of burglary tools and for felony theft.
