Two men face felony drug and gun charges after cocaine, pills found in Willmar, Minn., home search
WILLMAR — Michael Anthony Diaz, 27, of Willmar, made his first court appearance Wednesday on three felony charges for possession of drugs and a machine gun or short-barreled shotgun after cocaine, pills and a sawed-off shotgun were found Tuesday after CEE-VI Drug Task Force agents served a search warrant on his home.
Unconditional bail was set at $30,000. Diaz also faces a gross misdemeanor charge of possessing a pistol or assault weapon as a user of controlled substance and a petty misdemeanor for marijuana possession. His next appearance is March 25 in Kandiyohi County District Court.
Paulo Natividad Portillo, 22, of Willmar, was also charged in the case. Portillo fa-ces a fifth-degree drug possession charge. His bail was set at $30,000. His next appearance is March 25.
According to the complaints, the agents found the men inside the home at Regency Estates West, locating Portillo in a bedroom with 4 grams of marijuana and the cut corners of bags that contained cocaine residue.
Agents also found 2 grams of cocaine, a digital scale, plastic bag corners with cocaine residue, 35 methadone pills and a shotgun with a barrel length of 17 inches.
