Two people from Hutchinson, Minn., charged after meth found in car on traffic stop

WILLMAR — Two people from Hutchinson made their first court appearances Thursday on first-degree drug possession charges for allegedly possessing 32.5 grams of methamphetamine found in their car during a traffic stop Tuesday along U.S. Highway 12.

Unconditional bail was set at $150,000 for Jesse Lee Weseman, 29. His next appearance is Oct. 10.

Unconditional bail was set at $50,000 for Sara Lynn Breitkreutz, 30. Her next appearance is Sept. 23 in Kandiyohi County District Court.

According to the complaint, a State Patrol trooper was on patrol around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday along U.S. Highway 12 between Atwater and Kandiyohi and stopped a vehicle because the driver, identified as Weseman, was not wearing his seat belt. The only passenger in the car was identified as Breitkreutz.

The trooper immediately noticed the smell of marijuana, and Weseman allegedly admitted to smoking a joint and having a joint in the vehicle. The officer found the marijuana cigarette in a pocket of the door and then saw a white cloth sack on the floor of the car. The sack contained plastic bags of meth and a digital scale. Located near the sack was a box containing more bags of meth and a meth pipe. The total weight of the meth was 32.5 grams.

The trooper observed that Weseman showed signs of meth use, including an order of meth as he perspired, heavy perspiration, pale complexion, dry mouth and dilated pupils.
