According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Felder was a passenger in a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Otimbum L. Wilson, 19, of Cleveland, Ohio.

Wilson's vehicle was westbound when it collided with a southbound 2005 Ford pickup driven by Keith A. Thompson, 52, of Raymond.

Both Thompson and Wilson were treated and released for non-serious injuries at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.

The State Patrol reported that neither Wilson or Felder were wearing their seat belts and that it is unknown if Thompson was wearing his seat belt.

Southbound traffic on Business 71 was detoured onto the Highway 23/71 bypass east of Willmar for a period of time due to the crash.
