UCare honors ACMC
WILLMAR — Affiliated Community Medical Centers was honored for delivering high-quality care to UCare’s Medicaid members and received a second award for delivering high-quality disability care to UCare’s members at UCare’s sixth annual “A Salute to Excellence!” event June 17.
UCare honored 25 clinics and care systems either for earning quality excellence awards in UCare’s 2013 Pay for Performance program or for delivering extra culturally responsible health services to UCare members and to reduce barriers to care for people with disabilities.
The award is new in 2014. ACMC received this honor for making significant improvements in care for people with physical and developmental disabilities and mental illness by removing barriers to care by making building design and equipment changes, providing individualized care to accommodate disabilities, and offering interpreter and care coordination services.
“Quality is one of UCare’s key values,” said Dr. Russ Kuzel, senior vice president and chief medical officer. “We greatly value the high-quality care Affiliated Community Medical Centers delivers every day and are pleased to honor their outstanding efforts to help our members of all disabilities, ages, and cultures get and stay well.”
