Update 1:45 p.m.: One dies after morning crash near Blomkest, Minn.

BLOMKEST -- One person has died after a two-vehicle crash at about 6:40 a.m. near Blomkest.

The identity of the person who died has not yet been released.

Injured in the crash was John A. Folk, 19, of Olivia. He was listed in critical condition at Rice Memorial Hospital of Willmar, according to information on the Minnesota State Patrol website.

The vehicles crashed at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 South and 165th Avenue Southwest near Blomkest. The State Patrol and the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office closed both lanes of Highway 71 for part of the morning.

Kandiyohi County Sheriff Dan Hartog says the State Patrol is investigating and mapping the scene. Responding to the crash were personnel from the State Patrol, sheriff's office, Willmar Fire Department, Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad, Willmar Ambulance Service, Blomkest Fire Department and Lake Lillian Ambulance.
