Update 2:30 p.m.: Another winter storm possible next week
West central Minnesota has a chance of snow Thursday as a low pressure system moves through Minnesota, according to the National Weather Service of Chanhassen. The best chance for snow is 1 to 3 inches across eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
There are continued indications of another winter storm for Minnesota next week, primarily Tuesday and Wednesday. The potential within this system is for some areas to see several inches of snow, but exact amounts and location are hard to predict yet.
The extended forecast for the Willmar area is:
Tonight: A chance of snow and freezing drizzle after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 3. Wind chill values between -7 and -12. Southeast wind between 6 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Thursday: A 40 percent chance of snow, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 28. Wind chill values between -6 and 4. East southeast wind between 5 and 11 mph.
Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 15. Calm wind becoming north northwest between 5 and 8 mph.
Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 26. North northwest wind between 9 and 11 mph.
Friday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 8.
Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 20.
Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 2.
