UPDATE: Appleton, Minn., abduction search expands to surrounding states, no ID on victim
APPLETON — As of this afternoon, law enforcement officials in Swift County had exhausted all leads, not identified the victim of a witnessed abduction on Monday evening in Appleton and were expanding their search to include surrounding states.
According to the Swift County Sheriff’s Office, a younger looking white woman was forced into a black midsized sport utility vehicle by two white men.
The apparent abduction was reported by a 911 call at 8:09 p.m. Monday. The woman was wearing a white jacket and black pants. One of the men was wearing a black jacket, black pants and white shoes. The driver of the SUV was a white male wearing a dark-colored T-shirt.
The woman was yelling for help. After she was forced into the vehicle, the SUV sped off to the south on State Highway 7.

The agencies assisting the Sheriff’s office included the Big Stone and Lac qui Parle sheriff’s offices, the State Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, State Patrol and the Appleton Fire Department.
