Update: Fatal accident reported near Milan, Highway 7 is closed north of town until further notice

MILAN – Emergency responders and law enforcement officers are on the scene of a fatal accident north of Milan.
Little information is available at this time, but according to the State Patrol the accident was reported shortly before 7 a.m. today on state Highway 7 north of Milan in Chippewa County.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is now reporting that Highway 7 at the railroad underpass north of Milan in closed due to a crash until further notice. All motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Law enforcement is directing traffic to side roads around the accident.

The accident is described as a roll-over type accident.
The initial report does not indicate how many vehicles or how many individuals were involved.
