MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- An Associated Press source is reporting that Minnesota athletics director Maturi will step down after 10 years at helm

Maturi and President Eric Kaler have called an 11 a.m. news conference that may settle the question of Maturi's future at the school.

An announcement of the news conference gave no word on the topic. But Maturi is in the final year of his contract.

Several Twin Cities media websites are now reporting that Maturi is retiring.

He has headed up Gophers sports programs for the past decade
