Update Noon: Voting beginning to pick up across Kandiyohi County

Many voters were headed to the polls today during Election Day 2012. Early voting has been light early on, but was beginning to pick up through midday across Kandiyohi County.

Tribune staff Carolyn Lange reports that 85 of 750 register voters had voted by 8 a.m. at Lake Andrew townhall in rural Kandiyohi County. Lange tweeted "Election judge saw me coming out the window and had the ledger open to my page by time I got there. Love voting in farm country."

At the polling station at Willmar City Auditorium, only 60 people had voted by 8 a.m., with half of those voting shortly after the voting opened at 7 a.m.

At the polling station at Willmar Senior Center, 129 ballots had been cast as of 8:30 a.m.

Tribune staffer Gretchen Schlosser reports that more than 130 voters had voted by 10:30 a.m. at the Precinct 2 Ward 2 polling station at Vinje Church in Willmar. She tweeted "Many in my neighborhood vote early to avoid the disenfranchisement by the lutefisk smell" that originates as part of Vinje's Election Day Lutefisk Dinner.

West Central Tribune staffer Dan Burdett reported his wife noted that more than 200 voters had voted by 11 a.m. at a Ward 4 Willmar polling station.

Update 9 a.m.: Early voting light at two polling stations in Willmar

Voting has started in Minnesota today on Election Day. Early voting has been light to moderate in the morning hours.
