UPDATE: Raymond, Minn., resident killed in Renville-Meeker line crash

OLIVIA -- Shannon L. Havemeier, 39, of Raymond, was dead at the scene of a two-vehicle crash around 7:30 p.m. Monday on the Renville-Meeker Line Road, approximately one mile west of Renville County Road 24 in Boon Lake Township.

The driver of the other vehicle, Shaun D. Knoll, 33, of Lester Prairie, was flown from the scene to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

The names were released this morning by Renville County Sheriff Scott Hable.

Havemeier was driving a 1998 Ford Escort eastbound that collided head-on with a 1994 Ford Econoline van driven westbound on Knoll.

Responding agencies that assisted at the scene included the Renville, Meeker and McLeod County Sheriff's Offices, Cosmos and Buffalo Lake Police Departments, Minnesota State Patrol, Cosmos and Hutchinson Ambulance Services, Cosmos and Hutchinson Fire Departments and Life Link III helicopter.

The Renville County Sheriff's Office, along with the Minnesota State Patrol, is investigating the crash.
