GRANITE FALLS -- The remains discovered Saturday in rural Granite Falls have been identified as Eric Santiago Martinez Solorzano.

Yellow Medicine County Sheriff Bill Flaten says the Midwest Medical Examiner in Ramsey has confirmed the identity with dental records.

According to a news release from the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office, Solorzano was reported missing April 2. He had gotten out of a vehicle after an argument with his brother while returning to Granite Falls from Montevideo.

A rural Granite Falls resident had reported the discovery Saturday afternoon of skeletal remains believed to be human. The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office and state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension collected the remains and transported them to the medical examiner.

Flaten says in a news release that the investigation remains open pending final autopsy results.
