UPDATE: Teen driver airlifted after Highway 23 crash

WILLMAR -- A 18-year-old Willmar teen was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center this morning for treatment of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Highway 23 and County Road 5 southwest of Willmar.

According to the State Patrol, Bryan Nelson was driving a 1997 GMC Jimmy and attempting to make a left-hand turn from County Road 5 to the highway when the vehicle collided with a 2009 Ford Super Duty pulling a trailer. The truck was driven by Steven Jacobson, 24, of Becker, who was not hurt.

Nelson was taken by ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to HCMC.
