EDEN VALLEY - A man killed Tuesday when a windmill crashed onto a tractor he was driving was identified this afternoon as Patrick Ladd, 52, of Eden Valley.

Ladd, an employee of Langmo Farms, was killed around 12:47 p.m. yesterday at 61953 363rd St. in Eden Valley.

According to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, Ladd was pushing snow with a small John Deere loader tractor when the tractor hit an old windmill located on the property.

The 40-foot tall windmill collapsed and fell on the tractor as it was backing away.

After being struck by the falling windmill the loader tractor, which was still in gear, continued backing away for a short distance before it became hung up on a steel post. The tractor began spinning and was still running when another employee of Langmo Farms discovered the victim.

Deputies responded and found Ladd on a tractor seat and slumped over the fender.

The medical examiners office was contacted and responded to the scene. The victim was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
