A Hancock High School graduate was killed Sunday in a noncombat-related injury, according to family sources.

The soldier's father, Lyle Kruize of Hancock, confirmed Wednesday morning to the Hancock Record that Army Sgt. Kurt E. Kruize of Hancock died Sunday in Iraq.

Sgt. Kruize's body arrived Tuesday night at Dover Air Force Base, Del.

He and his wife, Billie Kruize, reside in St. Cloud, according to Lyle Kruize. They have four children. A 1993 graduate of Hancock High School, he was the son of Lyle and Bev Kruize.

Sgt. Kruize was serving in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
