According to Renville County Sheriff Scott Hable, Burnet fell some 60 feet from the elevator building around 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

Ambulance crews attempted to resuscitate Burnet but he died at the scene from his injuries, the Sheriff's Office said. The Burnett was not an employee of the elevator, but rather was a contractor working on the expansion project at the elevator.

The Buffalo Lake Ambulance, Buffalo Lake Fire and Rescue, Buffalo Lake Police Department, Renville County Sheriff's Office and a Lifelink III helicopter all responded to the scene.

Further investigation of the accident will be conducted by the Buffalo Lake Police Department, Renville County Sheriff's Office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
