However, motorists will encounter a detour on Highway 212 from Highway 15 west of Brownton to Highway 22 beginning Friday, as crews begin the third stage of the resurfacing project.

The new detour goes south on Highway 15, east on McLeod County Road 17, continues east on Sibley County Road 15, north on Highway 22 and then back to Highway 212.

All work is expected to be complete by mid-November, weather permitting.

The 28-mile project extends from Renville County Road 16 west of Hector to the start of the four-lane highway west of Glencoe. The project consists of pavement resurfacing, new turn-lane construction and culvert lining.
