She was born February 25, 1930, in Acoma Township, north of Hutchinson, to Robert and Mathilda (Fischer) Radunz. She attended her first year of grade school at "Popp's" country school before her family moved to a farm east of Cosmos. She attended District 89 for grades 2 to 8. In order to attend high school, Vera stayed with her Radunz grandparents in Hutchinson for ninth grade and then boarded with Emma Loeck in exchange for household help. Her parents bought a farm west of Hutchinson in 1947 and she was able to live at home until graduation from Hutchinson High School that year. She then worked for several years as a cashier at the JC Penney store.
She married Dorin Adams on May 6, 1950, in Hutchinson. They lived on Dorin's home place south of Corvuso where they farmed. She helped with milking cows, baling hay, cultivating corn and tending her flocks of ducks and chickens. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of rural Cosmos and served as Sunday school superintendent and teacher and also as WELCA president for seven years. In the 1960s, she qualified for the TV show "Bowl-a-Rama" and won several prizes including living room furniture. She was a member of the neighborhood Merry-Go-Round Club for many years.
She is survived by her children: Karen (and John) Johnson of Litchfield, Kay (and Michael) Dennis of Stanchfield; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sept. 16.
