The new Verizon Wireless Communications store will be located at 1605 First St. S.W. in Willmar.

According to a news release from Verizon, the billing conversion will be completed Sunday for former Alltel customers in Glencoe, Hutchinson, Litchfield, Montevideo, Olivia and Willmar.

Authorized Alltel retailers in Glencoe, Hutchinson, Litchfield, Montevideo, Olivia and Willmar will also be completing their conversion Sunday to Verizon Wireless.

"We have worked diligently to ensure that the transition to Verizon Wireless will be as seamless as possible for former Alltel customers," said Seamus Hyland, president-Great Plains Region, Verizon Wireless, in news release.

Verizon Wireless completed its purchase of Alltel on Jan 9, 2009, and agreed to divest of overlapping wireless properties, including an area encompassing Chippewa, Kandiyohi, McLeod, Meeker, Nicollet, Renville and Sibley counties.

The retained Alltel market as of Sunday will be converted and re-branded to Verizon Wireless operations.

Former Alltel customers in west central Minnesota will keep their same phone numbers, long-term commitments and mobile phone. For further questions, customers should contact their local Verizon Wireless store or retailer.
