Verna I. Steinbach May 11, 1920 - April 30, 2009
BELVIEW -- Verna Ione (Beavers) Steinbach, 88, of Belview died Thursday at the Parkview Home.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview. Burial will be in the Belview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
She was born on May 11, 1920, in Sioux Agency Township, Yellow Medicine County, to John O. and Alma (Peterson) Anderson. She grew up on a farm between Belview and Echo.
She married Harold Beavers on Oct. 2, 1938. They lived in Granite Falls until 1948 when they moved to Belview.
In 1988, she married Francis Steinbach.
She is survived by four children: Virginia (and Kenneth) Agre of Sacred Heart, Marjorie (and David) Piehl of Appleton, Wis., Janice Omtvedt of Belview and Roger (and Cheryl) Beavers of Belview; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Thelma Lippert of Belview and Lola Holein of Granite Falls.
Verna was preceded in death by her husbands; a son: Charles; son-in-law: Rolf Omtvedt; two great-grandchildren; and many brothers and sisters.
