LAKE LILLIAN -- Verona Beckler, 86, of rural Lake Lillian, died Saturday at the Golden Living Center in Olivia.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Bird Island United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bird Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Bird Island and one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was born Oct. 22, 1921, at Danube to William and Lilly (Levine) Bratsch. She attended rural school and then assisted local families with housekeeping.
She married Vernon Beckler on Dec. 12, 1938, in Olivia. They farmed for many years in rural Lake Lillian. She continued to live with her son, Dale, on the farm until recently when she became a resident of the Golden Living Center in Olivia.
She is survived by three children: Violet (and Clarence) Klucas of Willmar, Dale Beckler of Lake Lillian, and Janet (and Larry) Grafenstein of Bird Island; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; three brothers: Gilbert (and Helen) Bratsch of Danube, Dennis (and Eileen) Bratsch of New London, and Willis (and Betty) Bratsch of Willmar; and four sisters: Ruthie Jacobson of Sacred Heart, Virginia Faiman of Olivia, Gloria McGovern of Maple Grove and Bev Kubesh of Olivia.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, three brothers and three sisters.
